The Pits run West to East. The second level has the $200 Pit Box Seats (actually folding chairs). The closed area on either side of the Control Tower / Press Box is $500 bux to get in, but the drinks are free. I can't drink a six pack without making a fool of myself, so I pass.
It can be chilly from the Pit Box seats, since it's shaded but provides a great view of the start of the race and the restarts after a caution. One drawback: the racing team tents obscure the actual pit stops. Hovever, few places provide a higher view of the 100,000 population city that exudes octance, action and open headers for 4 four days.
The Corvette Pits were in about the same spaces as last year. The #4 car was below the 1962 banner and the #3 car was below the 1964 banner.
Below: in the upper left corner, my C6 windshield is visible. I'm really glad I guessed at a parking spot close to the Corvette Heartbeat of America. I would have been saddened if an Acura or Zundap was my view.
Below: I think a driver was warned about bringing any Nut House snacks onboard.
