Now I know where Jim
Glass puts all those Corvette parts. Jim always has a nice selection of
Corvettes in his Kingston, NY shop. |
Could there be a prettier
sight than the hills of Litchfield county and old Corvettes? Look like they
may be doing a wheel alignment. |
Note the clips above
and below the window to prevent a blow out. These are all hand made and
differ on each race car. Below are two bars to keep the rear window from
coming out. |
I once asked Kevin Mackay
how he knew he has found Roger Penske's 1966 Sunoco L88 since it was a wreck
so to speak. And he said the unique blow out clips were shown in the 1966
Corvette News in a photo and the wreck had them. |
I must remember to
tell Jim that horn button is not authentic for his model year, and he may
go faster with the korrect one. |
Again my lousy Sony
camera with the non ergonomic white balance button screwed up the color
in this shot. |
After practice on
Saturday. What weather, humidity and high octance fumes. It was only $8.85
a gallon for 112 octance. |
Suited up in the shade
and getting ready to stage for the last race. |
Waiting in the shade
for the last race. |
Practice on Friday
in the esses with an original special factory light weight Jaguar that ran
like stink. Too bad a Grand Sport was not on hand. |
Jim at work. Gawd,
I'll bet he hates work too. |
