That gold paint applied from several cans is really a not a solution when compared to the original finish. Perhaps it looks good in a .jpg photo on the net, however it stands out like a sore thumb when viewed in person. I have never seen it used anywhere, by anyone on anything and it fooled anyone into thinking it was real plating. It is inexpensive and maybe it will fool you wife, but few others.
It hardly compares with a Cadmium yellow chromate plating finish. If you must use paint, Semi-Black paint is actually a more practical, cheaper and a much less tacky solution.
