Mr. Dituro never figured I would read this message. Regretfully, he neglected to recount the entire story. Don't waste your time with this asshole. There are plenty of other good vette parts suppliers out there. This guy sells crap and refuses to stand behind it."
On April 19, 1999 Mr. Dituro ordered a left side 1970-1977 rocker molding just like the one above. At the time of purchase and right up through his two follow up phone calls, he was repeatedly cautioned to heed the warning that GM printed on these packages. These parts were skin packed by GM with a warning in capital letters: "NOT RETURNABLE IF OPENED". This warning is printed over 30 times on this package. Three times Mr. Dituro was verbally informed that if he wanted to return this rocker molding, he should not remove the skin pack. If repeatedly explaining what this warning's means is giving him "an attitude", then I plead guilty - because it means exactly what it says.
So after repeatedly warning him NOT to open the skin pack, he opened it and then wanted a return. He stated we would not refund him, but that is not the full story. I have a very good memory and even better business records.
Mr. Dituro's statement that "the numerous scratches and dings were not visable thru the package " is a subterfuge and false. These clear plastic skin packs will not hide any genuine defect unless you a using a microscope. The entire surface is visible, including the edges. On these long flat parts, the skin is not even wrinkled or gathered, which could hinder examination. You can read the smallest print on a dollar bill through this clear plastic. You are a shameful pathetic fabricator.
These 1970-1977 rocker moldings were never shabby parts when GM offered them in service. The remaining 2 pieces in my collection are typical and I would not hesitate to use them on my own cars. Yours is a disingenuous attempt to obscure the fact that you were advised several times not to open the skin pack if you had any reservation and wanted to return that GM part. You had in fact returned some other part in October 1998, the previous year and received a full refund.
Additionally your invoice only shows one item: a rocker molding. We did not in fact charge you extra for any such screws or hardware item. To imply otherwise is absolutely untrue and would not be supported by your own MasterCard charges. Furthermore the rocker molding was billed at $94.55, not the $100 you puffed it up to. When GM discontinues a parts such as the this, often the screws are not included. That is very common.
Is is so difficult to really tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth or do I have to force you to hire a professional representative and prove you a phony for real?

PS Now, since GM discontinued this same rocker molding a month after this sale, I will bet 100 to 1 this same exact genuine GM part looks more like a gem everyday. There is not a doubt in my mind it is installed if you still own that Corvette.
