 This was not a another stripped stolen
Corvette. Kevin Mackay was invited by George Kerbeck to display his latest
effort, this spectacular See Through 1969 L-88 coupe. |

 There were few fiberglass panels on this
chassis and drive train. The tail and back up lamp panel was the only panel
in the rear of this beauty. And it worked. |

 One clue to an original 435 HP, L-89
or L-88 are the mounting holes in the body that are used to mount the TI
amplifier. |

 Besides being beautiful, this 1969 door
is really an educational exhibit. Note the lock mechanism, lock rod, sliders,
tracks and regulator. No mystery here. |

 If you look closely at this Corvette
Repair car hauler you can read the vanity plate which says what
else but REPAIR. |

 This view is from the passengers foot
well looking toward the drivers side behind the dash. Note the center cluster,
wiper motor and actuator. |

 The only fiber glass panel on the firewall
is the plenum cover panel. That air dam on top of the radiator support
is unique to the L-88. It's a blueprint correct Doc Rebuild part. |

 This coffee can style early 69 wiper
door actuator is shown with a formed vacuum hose making a U turn towards
the rear. Note the Red silicone L-88 only plug wires. |

 The only other fiberglass panel on the
front end is the bonding strip on the head lamp support bar that bonds
to the top surround. |

 The really spectacular feature of
this L-88 is not that you can see the bird cage and innards in a static
display, but rather that everything works just like it should. |
